Tassone Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

ELMIRA, N.Y. - Jackals captain Matt Tassone has been named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Oct. 27-Nov.2.

Tassone notched six points (three goals, three assists) and was plus-6 last week as the Jackals swept their weekend series against the Brampton Beast.

The St. Albert, Alberta native recorded a shorthanded goal and added an assist on the overtime game-winning-goal Friday night in Elmira's 3-2 win. The next night he tallied two goals and two assists and finished plus-4 in the 5-3 victory.

The 24-year-old has compiled eight points (five goals, three assists) in the last three games. Tassone's five goals are tied for the team lead and are tied for third in the league.

Tassone has 72 points (34 goals, 38 assists) in 131 career ECHL games with Elmira, Las Vegas, Ontario and Idaho. He also scored one goal in 13 career American Hockey League games with Lake Erie.
