ELMIRA, N.Y. - April 22 2013 - The Elmira Jackals announced today that they have hired Mike Strobel as the newest addition to their growing sales team. He will fill the role of account executive and director of social media for the Jackals and First Arena.

A native of Hornell, New York, Strobel joins the Jackals after spending nearly 25 years working in local radio. Beginning in 1990 he was the voice that listeners around the Twin Tiers woke up to as co-host of the morning show on WLVY-FM 94.3 (and for the last five years on WOKN 99.5). Strobel also worked in advertising sales for the Pembrook Pines Media Group during his time there and assisted clients that advertised on a number of the company's stations.
Strobel's position with the Jackals is not his first venture into the sports world, nor is it his first with the team. From 1998 to 2000 he worked in sales and marketing, and served as the public-address announcer, for the Vero Beach Dodgers of the Florida State League. Strobel returned to Elmira in the fall of 2000 and, with the opening of First Arena, stepped into the press box to serve as the public-address announcer for the Jackals. He has maintained that role through the 13 years of pro hockey in the Twin Tiers and will continue in that capacity when the 2013-14 season begins.
