Marotta, 24, heads to Rochester for his second professional call-up to the American Hockey League. The Bridgewater, Massachusetts native has amassed an 11-19-1 record with a 2.65 goals-against-average and a .911 save percentage in 34 games with the Jackals this season. The rookie netminder ranks second among all first-year goaltenders in goals-against-average and ranks third in save percentage. Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-4 200-pound goaltender appeared in 47 games for Merrimack College and posted a 2.39 goals-against-average and a .917 save percentage.
Additionally, the club announced today that they have signed Erik Lasky as an emergency backup goaltender.
