Jackals Loan Marotta To Rochester

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today that they have loaned goaltender Sam Marotta to the Rochester Americans.

Marotta, 24, heads to Rochester for his second professional call-up to the American Hockey League. The Bridgewater, Massachusetts native has amassed an 11-19-1 record with a 2.65 goals-against-average and a .911 save percentage in 34 games with the Jackals this season. The rookie netminder ranks second among all first-year goaltenders in goals-against-average and ranks third in save percentage. Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-4 200-pound goaltender appeared in 47 games for Merrimack College and posted a 2.39 goals-against-average and a .917 save percentage.

Additionally, the club announced today that they have signed Erik Lasky as an emergency backup goaltender.
