Tonight, the Jackals finish their two-game weekend set against the Florida Everblades and complete the four-game season series. Last night, the Jackals stood toe-to-toe with the top-ranked Everblades, but were bitten by a late goal with just 33 seconds remaining. Steven Shamanski, Mitch Holmberg and Joe Houk scored for the Jackals. Shamanski's 14th goal of the season set a new Jackals single-season record by a defenseman. Houk recorded his first career multi-point game with a goal and an assist. Sam Marotta stopped 22 of 26 shots faced, but was saddled with the loss. In the previous meeting at First Arena, the Jackals clawed back from a three-goal deficit and defeated Florida 6-5 in overtime. Riley Wetmore recorded a goal and two assists to lead the Jackals with three points. Thomas Nesbitt and Mike Seidel each scored twice and Mike Bergin and Justin Kea added two assists apiece. Lucas Bloodoff scored the game-winner in overtime and added an assist in their wild comeback win. Elmira is 8-10-0 all-time against Florida.
