Jackals, Road Warriors Face-Off In Deadlocked East Division Battle

ELMIRA, NY  - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, host the Greenville Road Warriors tonight for the only time this season. The Jackals and Road Warriors are tied for fourth in the East Division with 59 points apiece.

Tonight the Jackals host the Greenville Road Warriors for the second of two meetings this season, and the only matchup at First Arena. The lone previous meeting this season occurred on January 4th in Greenville, South Carolina. Matt Tassone opened the scoring in the first period and Colin Jacobs added a marker in the third frame, but the Road Warriors tied the game late in regulation and sent it to a shootout. Two Jackals shooters scored and Travis Fullerton stopped five of eight shooters in the skills competition, but Greenville came away victorious, 3-2. The last time these two teams met at First Arena came on November 1, 2013. Artem Demkov, Philip-Michael Devos and Rob Bellamy scored and Scott Greenham stopped all 31 shots faced in the 3-0 Jackals win. Elmira is 7-3-2 all-time against the Road Warriors.
