Tuzzolino Loaned To Binghamton

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today that veteran defenseman Nick Tuzzolino has been loaned to the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League.

Tuzzolino, 29, has earned his second AHL call-up this season after posting 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) and 84 penalty minutes in 38 games for the Jackals. He skated in one game with the Utica Comets on November 12th in his first call-up. In 338 career ECHL games combined between Elmira, Alaska, Utah, Wheeling and Fort Wayne, the 6-foot-6 225-pound blueliner has collected 166 points (37 goals, 129 assists) and 829 penalty minutes. Tuzzolino has also logged 87 AHL games with Rochester, Utica, Abbotsford, Lake Erie and Portland. In total, the Buffalo, New York native has played in 507 professional hockey games split between the ECHL, AHL, UHL and IHL.

Before turning pro, Tuzzolino played three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Sarina Sting and Sudbury Wolves, registering 70 points (13 goals, 57 assists) and 338 penalty minutes in 168 games. He also skated for one season with the Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League. He was drafted by the New York Islanders in the seventh round (#196 overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
