Tassone Earns Call-Up To Rochester

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today that forward Matt Tassone has been loaned to Rochester.

Tassone, 25, has appeared in 23 games for the Jackals this season. The team captain leads the Jackals with 14 goals, 24 points, 76 penalty minutes and a plus-14 rating. In 149 career ECHL games with Elmira, Las Vegas, Ontario and Idaho, the St. Albert, Alberta native has collected 88 points (43 goals, 45 assists). Tassone has also appeared in 13 AHL games with the Lake Erie Monsters, posting one goal and 26 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2 210-pound forward also skated in 14 CHL games with the Arizona Sundogs and the Wichita Thunder and recorded eight points.

Prior to turning pro, Tassone played 187 games with the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League. He recorded 73 goals, 46 assists and 343 penalty minutes in four seasons with the Broncos. Tassone was drafted by the Dallas Stars with the 176th overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Additionally, the Jackals announced today that they have signed forward Ryan Patsch to a Standard Player Contract.

Patsch, 23, joins the Jackals by way of the Danbury Whalers of the Federal Hockey League. The 6-foot-1 195-pound Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native registered 61 points (31 goals, 30 assists) in 56 games with Danbury last season, earning FHL Rookie of the Year honors.
