Jackals Visit Reading For Monday Matinee Affair

READING, PA - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, visit Santander Arena for a Monday matinee affair against the Reading Royals to complete a three-game mini series.

Today the Jackals travel to Santander Arena in Reading, PA to face-off against the Royals in a matinee affair. Today's meeting marks the 11th of 15 meetings this season, including the sixth of eight at Santander Arena. This contest marks the final meeting in a three-game mini series, which began on Friday night at First Arena in Elmira, NY. The Jackals returned home and jumped ahead of the Royals 3-0 in the first period with goals coming from Mike Seidel, Ryan Rashid and Andrew Conboy. Steven Shamanski added his ninth goal of the season to cushion the Jackals lead in the third period. Travis Fullerton made 36 saves to earn his 12th win of the season as the Jackals cruised to a 4-2 win. The next night Thomas Nesbitt, Mitch Holmberg and Mike Seidel scored in the second period, but the Jackals allowed two third period tallies and fell 4-3 in the shootout. Elmira holds a 49-46-12 all-time advantage in the series against Reading and the DeMet's Candy Turtle Cup Challenge is tied at five games apiece.
