Jackals Send McAvoy To Orlando

ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today that they have traded defenseman Spencer McAvoy to the Orlando Solar Bears to complete the future considerations from the November 5th trade, which sent Mike Bergin from Orlando to Elmira.
McAvoy, 26, skated in 23 games for the Jackals this season. The 6-foot-3 200-pound defenseman did not record a point and posted 26 penalty minutes for Elmira. McAvoy spent the previous five seasons in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport at St. Francis Xavier University. In 128 CIS games, the Edmonton, Alberta native posted 72 points (20 goals, 52 assists).
