Jackals Eye Canadian Sweep Today In Brampton

BRAMPTON, ON - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, pay their final visit of the season to the Powerade Centre to take on the Brampton Beast for the sixth and last matchup this year. The Jackals are 5-0-0 against Brampton this season.

Today the Jackals finish their season series against the Brampton Beast with the sixth meeting of the year, and the third contest at the Powerade Centre. Four different Jackals scored last night in the team's 4-2 victory, which pushed their record to 5-0-0 against the Beast. Justin Kea started the scoring in the first period and before the end of the opening stanza Matt MacKenzie added his first goal of the season. Steven Shamanski and Andrew Conboy also scored for the Jackals and Travis Fullerton turned aside 33 shots for the victory. In the first game of their three-game road set in Brampton, Ontario, the Jackals scored three goals in the third period to power past the Beast, 3-1. Steven Shamanski potted his 10th goal of the season to put the Jackals up 1-0 in the third period. The Beast quickly tied it up, but Zach Tolkinen's first professional goal put the Jackals ahead for good.
