Jackals Celebrate Blade's Birthday With Reading In Town

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, complete their two-game home-stand tonight against the Reading Royals. The Jackals are 5-3-1 against Reading this season.

Tonight the Jackals complete their two-game home-stand against the Reading Royals with the tenth of fifteen meetings this season, and the fifth of seven at First Arena. Last night the Jackals returned home to host their East Division rival and jumped ahead early in the first period. Mike Seidel and Taylor Stefishen returned to the lineup and figured into each of the Jackals' first goals. Seidel buried his eighth goal of the season assisted by Riley Wetmore and Andrew Conboy. Less than a minute later Ryan Rashid scored for the third straight game with assists coming from Stefishen and Holmberg. Andrew Conboy increased the Jackals lead to 3-0 in the first period with an unassisted shorthanded marker. Steven Shamanski added his ninth goal of the season to cushion the Jackals lead in the third period. Travis Fullerton made 36 saves to earn his 12th win of the season as the Jackals cruised to a 4-2 win. Elmira holds a 49-46-11 all-time advantage in the series against Reading and a one-game advantage in the DeMet's Candy Turtle Cup Challenge.
