Tonight
the Jackals face the Royals for the seventh of 15 meetings this season
and the fourth of eight at Santander Arena. Last night the Jackal hosted
Reading in front of a soldout crowd at First Arena. However, first
period goals from Matt Hatch and Pat Mullane gave Reading the early
advantage. Olivier Labelle and Ryan Cruthers added second period tallies
to extend Reading's lead. Ryan Rashid and Lucas Bloodoff scored in the
third period but the comeback would fall short as Cam Reid added the
Royals' fifth goal and propelled them past the Jackals 5-2. Travis
Fullerton turned aside 25 of 29 shots in 40 minutes but was saddled with
the loss. Sam Marotta entered the game in the third period and stopped
four of five shots faced. Connor Knapp stopped 24 of 26 shots faced to
earn the win. The Jackals hold a 47-45-11 advantage in the all-time
series against the Royals.
The
Jackals have found tremendous success this season when they have posted
at least a trio of tallies. Elmira is 15-0-1 this year in games where
they score three or more times. They are 7-0-0 when scoring exactly
three goals.
