Jackals Acquire Forward Kellan Tochkin From Missouri

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today that they have acquired forward Kellan Tochkin from Missouri in exchange for defenseman Patch Alber.

Tochkin, 23, joins the Jackals in his third professional season. This season Tochkin has posted seven points (four goals, three assists) in 14 games for the Mavericks. The Abbotsford, British Columbia native spent his first two pro seasons split between Florida and Evansville of the ECHL and Missouri, when the club was in the CHL. He recorded 40 points (11 goals, 29 assists) in 55 games last season in his first ECHL season. The previous year Tochkin notched 44 points (15 goals, 29 assists) in 56 games for Missouri in the CHL. The 5-foot-11 180-pound forward played junior hockey in the Western Hockey League with Everett, Medicine Hat and Prince Albert. Tochkin posted 243 points (91 goals, 152 assists) in 256 WHL games. 

Alber, 25, played all 84 professional games for Elmira. The 5-foot-10 170-pound defenseman has recorded six assists in 19 games this season. The Clifton Park, New York native finished second among team blueliners last season with six goals and 18 points in 65 games. Prior to turning pro, Alber played 113 NCAA games at Boston College and was a part of three Hockey East Championships (2010, 2011, 2012) and two National Championships (2010, 2012).
