Jackals Team Up With Komen Twin Tiers

ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today that they are teaming up with Komen Twin Tiers to raise support for breast cancer awareness.

Last season the Elmira Jackals were a sponsor of the Twin Tiers Stiletto Sprint and the Race for the Cure, as well as the host of the inaugural Pink in the Rink game in March. This year the Jackals are strengthening their partnership with Komen Twin Tiers to continue raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research and patients.

"We're most grateful to the ongoing commitment of the Elmira Jackals to raise awareness and funds to provide real-time help to those facing Breast Cancer in the Twin Tiers," said Komen Twin Tiers Executive Director Patricia Nozell. "As Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins, a month of hope, renewal and recommitment to ending breast cancer forever, we cannot think of a better time to thank the Elmira Jackals for their support via Pink in the Rink 2014 and to announce the date for Pink in the Rink 2015."

The Elmira Jackals will once again be a sponsor of the Twin Tiers Stiletto Sprint presented by Heels & Hobos. The Jackals mascot, Blade, as well as several members of the Elmira Jackals will be present on West Water Street this Friday, October 3 to support the sprint participants. Following the sprint, all participants and supporters are welcome to head over to Splitrock Brew Pub for the Party in PINK. Splitrock Brew Pub will feature a Pink Drink special and will donate all of the proceeds from that featured beverage sold that evening to Komen Twin Tiers. In addition, all adult (12 & over) sprint participants will receive a coupon courtesy of the Jackals and First Arena, which will be redeemable at Splitrock Brew Pub after the Stiletto Sprint.
