Jackals Sign Forward Mike Seidel

ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today that they have signed forward Mike Seidel to a standard player contract.

Seidel, 26, split last year in the ECHL with Evansville and Gwinnett. The 5-foot-11 180-pound forward recorded 31 points (12 goals, 19 assists) in 67 combined games between the Icemen and Gladiators in his first professional season. Prior to turning pro, the Chicago, Illinois native spent four seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Seidel notched 88 points (47 goals, 41 assists) in 150 NCAA games and won the 2010-11 NCAA championship with the Bulldogs. He played three seasons in the United Stated Hockey League with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and posted 163 points (60 goals, 103 assists) in 173 USHL games.
