The Jackals are facing the Stingrays tonight for the fourth of four meetings this season and the second of two at the North Charleston Coliseum. The Jackals are 1-1-1 against the Stingrays this season (0-1-0 on the road) after going 1-0-1 in back-to-back games vs. South Carolina at First Arena on March 1 and 2. Despite South Carolina residing far ahead of Elmira in the standings the season series between the teams has been quite close. The victorious team has won by more than a goal just once (New Year's Eve - S.C. 2-0) and neither team has scored more than three goals against the other in a single game. Both teams are playing well lately. South Carolina has won three of its last four games and allowed only nine goals in that time. Elmira, meanwhile, has scored 13 goals in its last three games in winning two of those.

The Jackals are the northernmost team in the Atlantic Division (second in the Conference behind Kalamazoo) but they have spent a lot of time below the Mason-Dixon line this season. This week's three-game slate to close out the regular season is the Jackals' third trip to the South Division in 13-14. This is the first season since joining the ECHL in 2007 that the Jackals have made more than two trips to the South Division and their nine games against the South are the most in a single season. They are 2-5-0 on the road against the South so far.
