CINCINNATI, Oh. - Last night the Elmira Jackals and Cincinnati Cyclones treated fans to a 12-goal, three-fight donnybrook. Tonight is the encore performance with the Jackals looking to bounce back with a win in the final meeting between the teams this season.

The Jackals are facing the Cyclones tonight for the seventh of seven meetings this season, and the fifth of five at U.S. Bank Arena. The Jackals are 2-3-1 against the Cyclones this season, including a 1-2-1 record at US Bank Arena. The Cyclones claimed victory in the season series with the Jackals thanks to back-to-back wins last night and March 14 in Elmira. The Cyclones are now the lone North Division team against which the Jackals have a losing record. No other team in the ECHL has scored more goals than the 209 that the Cyclones have posted and the Jackals have had a difficult time slowing that offense down lately. Outside of Elmira's 2-1 win at First Arena on November 30 the Jackals have not been able to keep the Cyclones under four goals in a game. Including last night's 7-5 triumph the Cyclones are averaging a dead-even five goals per game against Elmira in the last five meetings. Elmira's offense, meanwhile, has produced four goals or more in three of those five contests against the Cyclones.

Jordan Pietrus set a new career high last night. His second period shorthanded goal was his third of the season and one better than the two he posted last season. Pietrus has pocketed 60 percent of Elmira's shorthanded goals this season and is now tied for third in the league in shorthanded markers. His former teammate (S. Carolina, 10-11) David de Kastrozza leads the league with five SHG.
