The Jackals are facing the Cyclones tonight for the sixth of seven meetings this season, and the fourth of five at U.S. Bank Arena. The Jackals are 2-2-1 against the Cyclones this season, including a 1-1-1 record on the Cyclones' home ice. The Cyclones grabbed back-to-back home wins in the season series with the Jackals after Elmira fired the opening salvo with a 2-1 win in Elmira on November 30. That win sparked a stretch where the Jackals won five of six games, but the back-to-back losses in Cincinnati were the first two of a season-long seven-game losing streak. The home team had won the first three games in the season series, but the Jackals bucked that trend with a thrilling 5-4 victory at U.S. Bank Arena on January 16. Jackals center Jordan Pietrus has had a large hand in Elmira's offensive success against Cincinnati. Pietrus is averaging just under a point per game against the Cyclones (1G, 3A) after posting an assist in Elmira's 5-4 win on January 16.

Elmira's offense will get a boost with the return to the lineup of rookie Jakub Culek who has been out since leaving the game on March 12 with an injury. The Ottawa Senators prospect leads Jackals rookies in points (30) and assists (22). He has been particularly dangerous on the power play where he leads all Jackals skaters in points (8) and assists (7). Culek is looking for a boost in goal scoring as he has been without a marker since January 31 in Fort Wayne (17 games).
