Jackals Game Preview

ELMIRA, NY - Tonight the Elmira Jackals suit up for the second game of a three-in-three this weekend against the Fort Wayne Komets. It's also the second game of a four-game home stand for the Jackals as they open the second half of their schedule.

WHEN: 7:05 p.m
WHERE: First Arena - 155 North Main St., Elmira, NY 14901

The Jackals are facing the Komets tonight for the fifth of seven meetings this season, and fourth of five at First Arena. The Jackals are 3-1-0 against the Komets this season (2-1-0 at home) after last night's 4-3 defeat. Elmira's biggest weapon in the season series with Fort Wayne has been its offense. The Jackals have scored no fewer than three goals in regulation against the Komets and are averaging 4.25 goals per game against their former UHL rivals.

With an injury to Maxime Clermont and Scott Greenham's recall to Binghamton in the wake of Nathan Lawson's injury, the Jackals' crease quickly depleted. To fill the void Dwight Mullins signed Neil Conway away from Nottingham of the EIHL and claimed Brad Phillips off of waivers from Gwinnett. Conway, a second-year pro, has a career record of 29-21-2, but has yet to see action in the ECHL. Phillips, meanwhile, was 7-5-2 with time split between Stockton and Gwinnett. Conway and Phillips become the fourth and fifth goalies, respectively, to suit up for Elmira this year.
