Elmira Jackals Game Preview

ELMIRA, N.Y.  - The Elmira Jackals open this weekend's action by hosting the Greenville Road Warriors for the first, and only, time this season. The Jackals are looking for their first home victory of the season tonight.

WHO: Elmira Jackals - Ottawa and New Jersey/NHL & Binghamton and Albany/AHL (1-2-0) vs. Greenville Road Warriors - New York and Philadelphia/NHL & Hartford and Adirondack/AHL (3-2-0).

WHEN: 7:05 p.m.

The Jackals are facing the Road Warriors tonight for the first of three meetings this season and the first, and only, time at First Arena. The Jackals went 4-0-1 against the Road Warriors last season and improved their all-time record against Greenville to 6-1-1. In 2012-13 the Jackals were particularly dominant against Greenville at home with a 2-0-0 record and a 9-2 advantage in scoring. Since Greenville entered the league in 2010, the Jackals have only lost to the Road Warriors on home ice once - on April 5, 2011 in the Kelly Cup playoffs. The Road Warriors are playing the middle game of a three-game trip through the Atlantic Division and got off to a strong start with a 3-1 win in Reading on Wednesday night.

    

Jackals forward Rob Bellamy has played six games against Greenville since joining Elmira in 2011, and has been highly productive in those contests. He has registered at least one point in four of the six, and each of those four games that he notched a point was a multi-point effort. His totals against Greenville: 6GP, 6G, 3A, 9 Pts., +5, 10 Pims. His 2G, 1A outing at Greenville on March 1, 2013 is tied for the second-most productive game of his career.
